If you just got your machine and it came with a Calmotion USBCNC-FAD or a LANCNC product, but the original owner gave you no instructions how to use the unit?
Search Youtube for "Calmotion USB" there are several videos including diagnosis problems to be found there.
First you will need to determine what baud rate the Calmotion is set up for. This depends on what the original owner set it to. Typically the Calmotion default is to use CD,10 but this doesn't guarantee what the previous owner changed. Here are the steps to get your Calmotion working:
Make sure the unit is powered, look for the LEDs on the board or connectors.
Depending on the unit, when the USB disk is inserted, another LED should light, but this varies with which product is installed
Find the baud rate currently set by entering every possible CD,# until the unit responds with the help menu. Start with CD,6, press enter, the Fadal should Immediately return to the ENTER NEXT COMMAND, then press the + key only (no enter). Wait a couple seconds, if the help menu does not appear then go to the next #:
CD,6<enter>

{wait for help menu?}
CD,7<enter>

CD,8<enter>

CD,10<enter>

CD,11<enter>

Once the CD,# has been found, then insert your USB disk and display the directory:

If nothing has worked. Take a picture of the unit that is 1) installed, 2) how it is powered, 3) cables connected and 4) the USB disk format (must be FAT32) . Send all this information in an email to support@calmotion.com .
